Get Ready for a 50s Themed School Dance for Grades 3-5
Building on the excitement and energy of the Back to School picnic, the WAES Dance Party for 3rd-5th graders is quickly approaching! We are hosting a 50s theme to celebrate WAES 70th Birthday on Friday Oct. 22nd from 6pm-8pm. While our DJ (and dancers!) will be playing and dancing to current music, we encourage everyone to bring their best 50s look - poodle skirts, leather jackets, etc.! Our amazing teachers in Art, Music and PE will give kids some experiences (think rock around the clock) in preparation for the dance party to help them really get into the theme! We also have a few surprises in store, so this is definitely an event you DON'T want to miss.
Here are the details - MARK YOUR CALENDARS:
Friday, Oct 22nd: 6-8pm - meet us in the Kiss and Go Loop
All tickets must be purchased in advance online: $10 for your dance ticket, or pay an extra $5 ($15 total) which provides you with pizza and some pretty cool 1950s era treats. Link to purchase tickets forthcoming.
Please bring your own beverages (like the picnic)
Dance will be held at the kiss and go loop
Grab your pizza at the bus loop - you'll still be able to hear the music!
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED (please!) - This event is eligible for SSL hours - sign up your older kids! We also welcome all adults, too! Volunteers are needed for things like check in, manning the pizza tables, handing out treats, etc. Amazing background music guaranteed. Bathroom access will be through the kiss and go door (front of building)
Please note: This is not a drop off event. Please ensure every child has a parent or point person for them while at the event. That being said, carpooling is encouraged!
Rain plan: Let's hope for good weather, but if there is rain, we will move it inside to the gym (masks required). Tickets will not be refundable but your money is going to the school!
