Have Your Kids Outgrown Their Winter Coats? Donate Them to the Warm Clothing Drive!!

We are collecting clean coats and other warm clothing 11/2-11/6 for the families of New Hampshire Estates/Oak View ES in Silver Spring. All sizes from infant on up.  From 8am-5pm each day, bring new or gently used coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, hats, mittens/gloves, and scarves for children and adults to the bins in front of the school. Children’s snow boots also welcome.

Clothing should be clean and in ready-to-wear condition. It is essential that clothing is clean as many recipients do not have easy access to laundry facilities.

We welcome volunteers to help distribute the clothing in November. With questions about the collection or interest in helping with distribution, please contact Cindy Mann.

Wood Acres has long considered New Hampshire Estates & Oak View Elementary to be our “sister schools.” Both serve the same Silver Spring community; NHE offers Kindergarten through 2nd grade, then children move to Oak View for grades 3-5. Many of the families at NHE/OV are in need; more than 85% qualify for free or reduced-price lunches. Families from these sister schools benefit from our annual Warm Clothing Drive, Book Drive, Holiday Gift Drive and Dine Out to Donate.
