Martha’s Table Collection

The Wood Acres PTA Community Service Committee supports fighting hunger in our community by holding monthly food collections at school.  Details below!

What to Bring: This month, MT has requested donations for McKenna’s Wagon, a mobile food truck that serves fresh food every night.  Please consider donating: fresh fruit, trail mix, homemade muffins, and PB&J sandwiches, and your items will be delivered that night or the following night.  Running out of time - we get it!  Martha's Table gratefully accepts pantry items too to put on the shelves in its markets.

When & Where: Drop off bins will be placed outside by the Wood Acres Kiss-n-Go loop and bus stop during the school day, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Collections are "First Monday" of the month, except for a couple of exceptions due to holidays.

How - See Martha’s Table Food Donation Guidelines here.  Please have your items in a grocery bag and place the bag in the bins.

Martha’s Table Recipes:

  • Trail Mix made from whole wheat/grain cereal, nuts, and dried fruit without added sugar

  • Whole Wheat PB&J (#SpreadtheLove) – We ask that sandwiches are peanut butter & jelly and are made with whole wheat bread.

    • Please individually wrap sandwiches in sandwich bags (no aluminum foil) for easy distribution

    • When possible, we ask that sandwich bags are labeled to indicate sandwich type or are stored in boxes labeled “Peanut Butter & Jelly” for ease of distribution

Foods Not Accepted: anything that requires refrigeration like deli meat, junk food (chips, soda, candy, sports drinks, miscellaneous condiments, and packaged desserts.
