Deadline to Register for Geography Bee

Fourth and fifth graders who wish to compete in the First Annual Wood Acres Geography Bee must register by this Friday, December 7. We will only accept children who register by this date as space as limited and study groups will begin next week. The Geography Bee (Geo Bee) is a National Geographic competition held at thousands of schools across the country. Children in grades 4 - 8 are eligible to compete. The winner of the Wood Acres Geo Bee to be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 7pm in the Media Center will qualify to possibly compete at the state and even the national levels. Could a Wildcat go all the way? The national competition will be held at the National Geographic headquarters in Washington, D.C in May. There is a chance to win thousands of dollars in scholarships. Students will be quizzed on geography facts and statistics, social studies, earth and space science, the environment, and culture before an audience of parents and students.

To take part in the Geo Bee, register here.
