Fifth Grade Farewell
Fifth grade is an exciting year at Wood Acres! We have many wonderful traditions that occur throughout the students' final year.
We need many parents’ help to make all of this happen. The committee needs lots of volunteers, for big jobs and small, to get it all done. Please email Traci and/or Cori (emails below) if you are interested in volunteering for one of the committees. There are many different jobs, so pick your passion and sign up. It’s your last chance before this one moves onto Pyle!
- Fifth Grade Memory Book
The Memory book is a wonderful keepsake for your child. Each Fifth Grader creates a half page to submit for the book. The pages are collected and professionally printed and bound for each fifth grader. The volunteers create a spread showing the years at Wood Acres and work with the printer to produce the book.
- Service Project
This year, our Fifth Graders will be working with A Wider Circle, a Montgomery County-based charity that helps families lift themselves out of poverty.
- Farewell Party
The volunteers will organize a party at Mohican Pool, from planning to execution and everything in between.
- Slide Show
This project has two components. First, is the collection and cataloging photos of all 5th graders from their various years at Wood Acres and second, the technical/creative part of creating the slideshow.
- Promotion Ceremony
The volunteers will arrange for snacks, drinks and decorations. Promotion ceremony will be on Thursday, June 15th.
We also need your financial help to fund these great projects and events. We are requesting a voluntary contribution of $50.00 per student to fund the above activities. You may submit your payment via Pay Pal at the following link:
